1960s Turquoise Kitchen (SOLD)

Details of each item

STOVE/COOKER: A near-perfect tin Fuchs stove from Germany, probably from the ‘60’s, given the colour scheme and shape of its upper cupboard. The cupboard holds four original, yellow plastic plates and original plastic tea service but we have added eight white china plates and four white china bowls, plus some tinned food and cutlery. The cupboard also has the delightful feature of a row of condiment drawers – perfect for salt, sugar, beans or whatever dolly wants to store in her kitchen. As for the stove, it has three original pans and lids, kettle, roasting tray and cooked chicken(!) plus a hand-made pot holder.

TABLE AND CHAIRS: A wonderful chromed table and two chairs, manufactured by Watko, and dating from the ‘50’s when these “Ice Cream Parlour” sets were the rage in America (where these miniature versions come from) Note: there is some very, very slight surface rusting on the undersides and legs.

SIDETABLE: A charming, mid-century enamelled tray with chrome edges sits on a modern metal table to hold spare kitchen accessories. The tray matches the two chrome wall racks described below.

WALL RACKS: Two chrome-edged wall racks for holding plates, pots and pans, possibly from France - there is a small fragment of a label in the corner of one rack, but we are unfamiliar with the logo. These two racks plus the tray are fantastic quality, like the cooker.

WALLS: Covered in dotted wrapping paper, which has been mounted on two pieces of 5mm thick, A3 foam board. Each piece of foam board measures 42 x 29.5cm or 11 5/8 x 16 3/8 in.

DOLLS: Available from our selection of vintage dolls . Shown here, a blonde Lesney ‘Ginny’ doll from 1978, dressed in one of her signature dresses, both in excellent condition. The other blonde doll with short hair, listed in the DOLLS section of our website as a “Walking Doll”, also in fantastic condition. Additional clothes are available for both dolls.
