Daisy Dining Room

Details of each item

Sideboard: High quality, mid century furniture, from the American manufacturer, Hall's Lifetime Toys, once based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but sadly no longer in existence. This is a solid piece, in nice condition, with the thin tapered legs, so characteristic of mid-twentieth century furniture. The sideboard has double opening doors, perfect for storing everything a doll's dining room could want. On top, sits a red china vase holding fabric daisies.

Table: Another high quality, mid century American piece from Strombecker. The amazing thing about this little table is that it has an extra, removable leaf (see photo) just like some real dining tables! The table is set for tea with small sandwiches and colourful jellies, all displayed on a lovely lot of china: there are four, white dinner plates and four green bowls, plus a daisy-painted tea set which has four side plates, four tea plates, four cups and four saucers.

Chairs: A set of four chairs made by Cape Cod Toymakers - another, lesser-known, mid century, American manufacturer.

Posters: Images of colourful vegetable varieties by artist Gregory L. Blackstock.

Rug: Made from a thickly-woven vintage fabric.

Walls: Covered in slightly glossy, sixties-patterned wrapping paper. It has been mounted on two pieces of 5mm thick, A3 foam board. Each piece of foam board measures 42x29.5cm or 11 5/8 x 16 3/8in.
