BUNK BEDS: Manufactured in America by Strombecker in the 1950’s, arguably the heyday of factory-made, doll furniture when there were at least four large companies making incredibly high quality, wooden items. The great play value is that they can be arranged either as matching twin beds, or as a single bunk bed since they come apart easily. They also have their original ladder, which can be stored under a bed when not in use. The beds measure 10.5in/25cm long and are 9in/23 high when stacked.

BEDCLOTHES: As with all our beds, these bunks come with a lovely array of handmade bedding. Each bed has a white cotton mattress, a white cotton, rosebud-sprigged under sheet, a French-knotted, reversible pink gingham-checked quilt on top and a flowery pillow featuring a gingham ruffled edge. (Please see our close-up photos). Note that all of this bedding is made with vintage, cotton fabric, and is completely hand-washable.

CHEST OF DRAWERS: A charming, handmade, pine piece with three drawers, probably dating from the early decades of the last century. The top has been painted white and the drawers lined with vintage papers.

SHELVES: Another lovely pine piece, stamped with the barely-visable maker’s name on the base. It has three shelves to hold dolly’s toys – we’ve added three wooden bunny toys, a few books, some alphabet blocks and a candy machine.

ROCKING CHAIR: A mid-century, wooden rocker with lattice back and a handmade, appliquéd cushion.

WAGON: A painted metal wagon with moving wheels holds two teddy bears – one pink, one beige.

RUG: A piece of thick, vintage cotton fabric makes the perfect, reversible rug. It’s pale green on one side, and pale pink on the other.

WALLS: Covered in a delightful vintage-inspired flowery print, which has been mounted on two pieces of 5mm thick A3 foam board. Each piece of foam board measures 42x29.5cm or 11 5/8 x16 3/8in.
