Half Tester Canopy Bedroom

Details of each item

WARDROBE: Lovely, vintage wardrobe from the early 20th century, with tiny glass knobs on both doors; inside there's a shelf and a clothes rail, which holds two wooden hangers (original to the piece), plus four others. Note: since this wardrobe has its original paintwork, it has simply been hand-waxed. On top sits a vintage white china jug, holding fake white blossom.

BED: Amazing, brass-coloured, vintage metal bedstead with a half-tester (or half canopy). (The bed will fold flat for storage.) Its tufted mattress is covered by two cotton sheets, a soft white blanket and an antique embroidered bedspread - all topped by a beautifully embroidered coverlet. There's also a lace-trimmed cotton pillow; the same lace trims the canopy of the half-tester. Note: all bedding is handmade and hand-washable. Please see the close up photo of the bed to see the details of the bedclothes.

DRESSING TABLE: A vintage wooden dressing table with a clever fold-down mirror holds a clock, three glass bottles and a brass lamp with handmade, lace lampshade.

WALLS: Covered in handmade paper, which has been mounted on two pieces of 5mm thick A3 foam board. Each piece of foam board measures 42x29.5cm or 11 5/8 x16 3/8in.
